Dear visitor,
This site was made as a project for my Technical Reading and Writing class, but that’s not its only purpose.
It’s also to broaden the minds of those who read this. Most of what you find will be fictional but based on something
that had actually happened. The purpose of this site is to show people that prejudice is wrong and it does hurt people. Words
do hurt. People think that the person will just shrug it off, and some people do. Others do for a while, but then it gets
to them. They’ll become more conscious about it and they’ll slowly slip into a state of depression.
The offensive comments used on this site was not directed to hurt any individuals that it may apply to, it is just
to show that people really are called those words and it can hurt. You may notice that I really don’t get into white
prejudice, but then again, that’s not as common as others such as prejudice against those who aren’t white or
someone of the GLBT community.
I also don't touch upon the discrimination that people may receive for what they wear or how they appear, discluding
race, gender, etc. This kind of prejudice does exist and it's as equally bad as the others. I apologize for not touching upon
this as much, but it's easier to write about the others than just discrimination against someone for their gender than if
they have too many piercings. Like those who have many piercings and wear a lot of black usually get the stereotype "goth".
Again, I realize that it does exist and I will speak briefly about it, but I won't go into much depth. My apologies.
I would like to emphasize that the journal and the letter to the world is fictional. They were just written to show
a point. It is not to be taken as someone actually writing this as a real thing. It is just for the project.
I hope that this project will really open the eyes of some people. I am not trying to force my views on you. You’re
reading on your own free will and if you don’t agree with me, that’s fine. I’m not asking you to agree with
me. I’m only asking that you consider what I have said. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Krystina Sanders
